Behavior Support Technician (BST)-
Pay $16-18/hour. Part-time position. Up to 28 hours a week.
The BST supports Tier 2 students in emotional regulation, skill-building, and classroom reintegration under the direction of the school administration and MTSS team. This role involves close collaboration with faculty, regular communication, and data collection.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist students with behavior plans by teaching and reinforcing replacement skills.
- Model emotional self-regulation, initiate restorative practices, and prepare students to re-engage in learning.
- Collect and report data on student progress to the MTSS team and administration.
- Participate in identifying behavioral needs and implementing interventions.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree, 48 college credit hours, or passing a Paraprofessional Assessment. Equivalent experience with emotional/behavioral disabilities is ideal.
- Completion of initial and ongoing BST training.
- Strong emotional stability, patience, and interpersonal skills to de-escalate and support students effectively.
Work Conditions:
- Physical demands include standing, walking, and lifting (up to 25-55 lbs).
- Requires flexibility to work across various settings with moderate noise levels.
